In Primal Matter Greek artist Dimitris Papaioannou employs the simplest of means - the human body - in a personal response to the new political, social and ethical realities of today's Europe. Throughout the work the two performers struggle between matter and mind, creator and creation. Moving through a series of identities and attitudes they manipulate their bodies into intriguing, unsettling and witty images. Part of Dance Umbrella.
