A Christmas Carol is the quintessential Christmas story. A fantastical social commentary about redemption and second chances. This "one-man" stage adaptation aims to rediscover its original form, as it would have been performed by Charles Dickens himself. Set in London in 1843, on Christmas Eve. Despite the cold and widespread poverty of the time, people's joy filled the streets resounding with Christmas songs. That evening everyone seemed happy, apart from Ebenezer Scrooge, one of the richest and unhappiest men in town. Enslaved by his own selfishness and so miserable that he would not spend even a penny for himself, Christmas was just a waste of time for Scrooge. However, that very night, the spirit world decided to pay him a visit, and from that Christmas on, Scrooge would never be the same.Adapted by Jud Charlton. Adapted by Paolo Serra (from Charles Dickens).
