Jewel is entering a beauty pageant. If she doesn't win, she's gonna be upset... A grotesque and funny one-woman show, inspired by the absurdities of beauty pageant culture in the USA. Three generations of one family compete for the ultimate title, with occasional input from a 5' 7'' prawn. Deranged talent routines, unusual hosts and inter-generational backstabbing abound in this surreal account of a contest like no other. Claudia Jefferies is a Physical Theatre performer based in London. She devises work that celebrates excess and idiocy, combining clowning with storytelling, naturalism and surrealism. In 2013, she will be making her Fringe debut at Brighton and Edinburgh with her first solo, self-produced show, Jewel.
