"I first came to Exeter when I was six, on a school trip. I did a drawing of a coracle at the now-defunct Maritime Museum, and Justin Mohan's horrible mother made me drink coffee. The whole experience was so uncongenial, I didn't come back till I was 39. That was last year, when I brought my storytelling show The Adventures of Wound Man and Shirley to the Bike Shed for the last night of my tour, and had a great time. That evening, after the show, I checked into my hotel, went to bed, and had a dream in which I was making a show called Albemarle. I'm now actually making a show called Albemarle, and you can be part of the early stages of its creation, as Chris Goode and Company are spending the next three weeks in residence at the Bike Shed, working on the new piece and presenting some back catalogue stuff that touches the same ideas and questions. We're thinking of the residency as a big long rich complex conversation that's just beginning to turn into a show: and we'd love your voice to be part of that conversation. The programme's a mix of theatre, live art, poetry and discussion; some of it's challenging, some of it just wants to snuggle, but all of it will only make sense if you're there to be part of it. (Not you, Mrs Mohan. I've got your number.)"
