Details

This award nominated international one man show is a mix of theatre, music and comedy that deals with coming of age, addiction and identity and will perform in London for two nights only. The Year That I Got Younger refers to the twelve months in Australia which is so popular with young Irish backpackers today. For many it is "a year on the beer" but for one wild eyed, handsome, Irish fiddle player it is a coming of age story about struggling with his identity and his addictions - in particular the demon drink. The show, written and performed by Aindrias was nominated for The Malcolm Hardee Award for comic originality in performance at the Edinburgh Fringe this year. The show also features a screening of his short film of the same title which won the best short documentary film award at the Galway Film Fleadh earlier in 2008.
