After a series of operations, the varicose veins are now gone, but fresh scars remain, reminding Tom of the metaphors he sees in his hereditary condition and a series of routine operations. A newly found confidence encouraged Tom to enter the Pretty Polly search for Legs 11, their Brand Ambassador for 2011. Tom delved into a world of celebrity, stockings, photoshoots, beauty pageants and gender misadventures.
