Enchanted April archiveIn post WWI London, two frustrated housewives, Lottie and Rose, decide to rent a villa in Italy for a month to escape their humdrum lives and crumbling marriages. Needing to cover the cost of their adventure, they recruit a pair of independent upper-class women, Lady Caroline Bramble and Mrs Graves, to share the experience. Once in picturesque Tuscany, among the wisteria blossoms and Mediterranean sunshine, all four women at first clash - but then, inspired by their new surroundings, begin to bloom, rediscovering themselves in ways that they could never have expected.

Author Matthew Barber (based on the novel by Elizabeth von Armin.
