Paul has just graduated as an English teacher, not really sure how it's happened and has been thrust into the machine of assessments and paperwork and levels with little time for anything else, finding himself back at home with a mountain of debt. James has retired, feels if his son had liked books so much he should have got a job in the library instead of a school, young people are not what they used to be or are they? So when Enrichment pops up on Paul's timetable he enlists the help of his dad with far reaching consequences.
Lessons in Life tries to capture a specific moment in time - in Sixth Form when you have to make life changing decisions, where life is just one endless tick list and there is no time to just be young.
