Othello

T01868499942
Othello, a Moor, falls in love with Desdemona but is broken by jealousy falsely encouraged. Shakespeare's most human play sets delicacy and power, trust and jealousy, love and hate, good and evil in stark and tragic opposition. Powerless in the face of their own self destructive instincts, the characters are caught on a downward spiral towards inevitable tragedy.

Arts Archive (21Aug03): For the first time in my life I sat down and watched Shakespeare, not just once, but 3 nights in a row and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Mandana Jones as Desdemona was simply spellbinding. In fact the whole production won me over. The second night had its problems but the cast and crew managed to overcome them enough so we could all still enjoy the play. It showed what a truely remarkable team they were to pull through and carry on and then keep the show going for the rest of its run. Brilliant and brave! 5
