The Iron Eyelashes archiveSet against the backdrop of the rise and fall of the Berlin wall. The play explores the lives of Pieter and Anna: a brother and sister separated the night the wall goes up. Pieter is a drag artiste who works in the west of the city and lives with his sister in the East. She is an aspiring dressmaker engaged to a young policeman who is later drafted into the Stasi. The day after the rise of the wall, Pieter must make a choice: return home to his family and face the restrictions of the east, or find freedom in the west. Alone.
