The Tragicomedy of Mac-Beth

T01888234568
Shakespeare's supernatural tragedy is presented in a nightmarish new reading by Sebastian Rex. A violence of sleep-deprivation and guilt are brought to life using choreography, physical theatre and an acerbic new voice. This new production couples some of the most wonderful verse from Shakespeare with acerbic modern language, whilst James E Anderson provides a thrilling original score. Physical theatre and non-naturalistic staging uncover a distortive veil of sleep deprivation; exacerbating the greed, megalomania, and manipulation of the original. Rex's production picks out these key focuses from Macbeth, and showcases them in an adroit and accessible fashion for audiences of all ages. Reality and hallucination merge in this astonishing piece of theatre; it is not to be missed.
Author Sebastian Rex (based on Shakespeare's Macbeth)
