The War of the Roses

The War of the RosesT0139386295
A short collage performance as part of their RSC Open Stages project, The Wars of the Roses, which stages all 8 of Shakespeare's medieval history plays. This extract piece takes the audience on a whirlwind journey spanning one hundred years of history. Moving from the melancholy elegance of Richard II, through the rebellions, victories and losses of the following plays, and finally into the dark brutality of Richard III, the production focuses on the enduring beauty, power and magnetism of Shakespeare's language and of the historical period depicted in these plays.
