Folk singer and writer Shirley Collins presents a unique and personal account of song collecting in America’s Southern states in 1959, on the cusp of the Civil Rights Movement. She tells of her journey with legendary folklorist Alan Lomax through story, photographs and archive recordings, some of which were later used by the Coen Brothers in their film O Brother Where Art Thou?
