UKTW - 25 years online

We are living in an extraordinary time. It is now clear that through the extravagant use of fossil fuels the human race is responsible for unprecedented changes to the earth system – to Gaia. Changes already in train will, this century, have profound impacts across the world. Europe s two leading Climate Change scientists, Chris Rapley CBE, Head of British Antarctic Survey and John Schellnhuber, Professor of Theoretical Physics at Potsdam University are both gifted and engaging communicators of this difficult subject. Underlining the need for cultural engagement with climate change, this unique event will be introduced by playwright Caryl Churchill and chaired by Associate Director, Ramin Gray.
