The Oulipo is a group of writers and mathematicians founded in Paris in 1960 with the aim of exploring how mathematical and restrictive structures might be used in literacy creation. The most notorious consequence has been Georges Perec's novel A Void written without using the letter 'e'. To mark the publication of the Oulipo Compendium by Atlas Press, key authors make their UK debut, reading from their work and taking part in a discussion of the group's techniques.
