5th Dec 23 :: Review: A Christmas Carol
I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS ENOUGH! The way this rendition of the classic Christmas tale is put together is truly beautiful, capturing the contrast of the cold bahumbug to the overwhelming warmth of its joyful resolution. The performences, pacing, creative use of space, colour, light, darkness, pacing & music is totally on point, & is a beautiful presentation of the Dickens classic. I saw this in 2022 & plan to see it again in 2023, as it thoroughly got me in the Christmas spirit! Miss it at your peril!

A fun, fabulous, interactive and well cast Pantomime. Full of talent and energy which was delivered brilliantly with excellent singing. The storyline was everything you’d hope for from a Pantomime right through to the finale with giggles and laughter heard from children and adults throughout with plenty up on their feet joining in with the dancing too ! No negatives at all ,this fab trio delivered genuine family fun professionally and are well worth a visit The young female Elf is one to watch for the future . Would highly recommend getting yourself down there to see and hear for yourself . I will be going again !

My daughter loved this show and even though she got a bit sad when the water guns came round, she soon forgot and got involved trying to help the elves with their task of bringing Christmas cheer! Absolutely recommend for young kids and there is the odd joke for the adults too!

Wonderful show and full of energy. The elves were brilliant and Santa was rocking playing his own guitar. Aimed at 10 and under but all of our group enjoyed every minute, adults alike. Perfect timing for the little ones at an hour show and great value for money. Would recommend for a bit of classic British entertainment this time of year

Terrible show, elf’s were racist, didn’t pick any black children. Only selected white children. Show also started late and finished early. Wont recommend

I watched this charming and highly entertaining production of "Jack and Jill" yesterday, and I was very impressed by the quality of the performance by all of the cast involved in this Christmas pantomime. The show is entertainment for people of ALL ages. You can see a live performance at Wigan Little Theatre at a reasonable price. Why not treat yourself to a trip to this theatre this Christmas. In fact, taking somebody to this show would make a lovely early Christmas present.

30th Nov 23 :: Review: Peter Pan
First visit to Hazlitt Theatre to see Peter Pan, the actors took on the role of flying very well. Wendy had a lovely singing voice, and the actor playing Peter Pan was very engaging. Captain Hook was brilliant, his commanding voice, and character were captured very well. I almost believed it was real. Well done to all the cast. We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours, joining in, clapping , it lifted our spirits.

Not great - felt liek they had commandeered the space to put on a half baked show and cash in on xmas shopoers being in the area at this time of year. i felt embarrased by the wek story line, Okay for young kids below 5 maybe??

24th Nov 23 :: Review: Fairytale of New York
So disappointed with Fairytale of New York which our group of 5 saw on November23rd. The first half was very poor. Who were these people? We saw the word Dolans but no introduction . The carols we knew from years back but the sound system was very poor so the actual words could not be heard. It was a very boring hour. The second half was better as regards providing more of a Christmas party atmosphere but just the same few people singing words we could not hear properly and doing the same dancing. The sound system certainly needs attention. The dancers were very good and the dance with the drums was the best part of the evening. There was just something missing from this show. It needs a bigger cast and people with more personality. It was our first visit to the theatre which is wonderful but it deserved a far more professional show than this.
