This really is a great rock show. Part Peter Pan, part West Side Story, the plot is a little cranky but that in no way detracts from the sheer power of the show which comes almost entirely from the music and the almost faultless performances of an amazingly energetic cast.
Of course, Glenn Adamson (Strat), Rob Fowler (Falco) and Sharon Sexton (Sloane) are old hands at this show, they appear in our 2022 review and I think may have even been at the Dominion in 2018! That said, they have lost none of their fire and enthusiasm for these roles and deliver them as fresh and furiously as you could possibly want. Glenn's voice is quite amazing and was nicely matched by Katie Tonkinson's Raven.
The music is, as you would expect, beautifully produced and I find the use of live video really engaging. Lighting and set/staging are wholly appropriate to this style of musical though initially some people might wonder about the use of hand-held, and even wired, microphones it works for me. The choreography in this show is crazy, in a good way, but delivered with absolute conviction by the cast.
A fabulous night out ....
