This is the second time that I have seen the shiow, though the last was the 2019 tour so I didn't remember it in detail! It is quite a big cast production with plenty of energy though at times I found the staging cluttered and a bit confused, not helped by the sound balance which meant I couldn't catch all the lyrics. None the less, visually this is impressive and there are some great voices to be heard - even if sometines exposition of the story seems to take second place to the spectacle.
Johannes as Lola is pitch perfect and forms a well balanced performance with Dan Prtridge's Charlie. I particularly enjoyed the energy of Courtney Bowman's performance as Lauren which I found really engaging and honest. I also enjoyed Scott Paige's George, well who wouldn't, and Joe Caffrey's under stated but credible Don.
A slightly mixed production for me, and a show I come away from without a tune to hum, but I have to say I did enjoy the evening.
