Perhaps not for everyone but I found the whole process fascinating. The BBC have a pop-up studio at Summerhall where they are recording a radio play that will be broadcast in a couple of months (presumably in lots of versions as each performance is recorded!). Three actresses, technicians, sound effects person and studio managers produce a play called "Out of Your Mind", a ghost story mixed with aspects of mental illness and the mistreatment of sufferers in the days of the asylums.
The whole process is very intersting and the play itself just the sort of thing I would tune into the BBC for just before going to sleep or on a long car journey. The actresses really bring their characters ti life (you listen through headphones) and there is an optional Q&A after the show with all of the cast and crew.
As a small tweak, in each performance several memebers of the audience are asked to volunteer to "perform" a line at the end of the play - yes, of course I did!
