CORONAVIRUS: currently, all theatres and related venues are closed. Shows are either being cancelled, postponed or rescheduled and we are trying to keep up with all the changes. There are currently few changes after May 2020 and many shows that were due for April have been pushed back towards the end of Autumn. Pantomimes are looking like a safe bet at the moment ;-)

Car Crash Productions took on a big challenge in Spring Awakening, which in the main they meet. A good seven piece band blends well for the music, but having the musicians play the adult parts was not so successful. They aren't actors. The young actors playing the children work better together. The director uses the space efficiently and creates several pleasing visuals using the coloured cubes. The cast manage movement and props effectively. There is some imaginative choreography and cute lighting. For all the weaknesses, it was a pleasure to see this musical again.
