What a fabulous, spectacle of an evening. Vibrant dance routines executed by a truly dedicated group of dancers giving it their all. A story of love, passion, murder and betrayal told with pace and conviction and some occasional comedy.
This is a delight of an evening.
I had only seen The Car Man once before and that was when it was broadcast on TV, a pale shadow of the current live production. Bizet's music has been re-thought, the story is (in my mind) better than the original and the choreography - well, stunning. I do have a chriticism, they fill the stage so much that you can't watch it all and end up missing some bits! Keep you eye off the main event sometimes and you will see that everyone on stage, no matter how far upstage and dimly lit, is telling their own story at all times - utter conviction.
Brilliant, treat yourselves!
