Christoper Hampton's translation of Florian Zeller's play about family, remembering and death. Overlaying stories look at the impact, alternatively, of the death of the highly organised mother and the father with dementia. With the help of some clever lighting changes we are led through two scenarios as the father, a once famouse author and the mother, the person who always kept his life in order, are removed. Never clear till the end, we are also introduced to characters including a potential old lover and family friend whose opinion on a local nursing home is being sought. I found the production very moving, I could see how some might find it confusing but it is actually beautiful story telling. I really enjoyed it.
