Vaudeville stages Pageant

The American musical revue, Pageant, which has been playing to packed houses at The King s Head Theatre has confirmed dates for its 26 July move to the Vaudeville Theatre. Pageant is a parody of US beauty pageants, performed by an all-male cast. The opening number "Natural Born Females" sets the tone. The winner of the pageant is completely in the hands of the audience each night. Five audience members are selected to be judges, but the crown has been "bought" before. Lionel Blair plays competition emcee Frankie Cavalier who oversees the all-male Miss Glamouresse competition. Cast members, playing the contestants, include Graham MacDuff (as Miss Texas), Miles Western (Miss West Coast), Dale Mercer (Miss Deep South), Leon Maurice-Jones (Miss Industrial North East), Michael Xavier (Miss Great Plains) and Eaton James (Miss Bible Belt).
