Join Bath Theatre School this July as they draw you into the heartwarming story of timeless traditions that define faith and family when performing the Tony award winning musical Fiddler on the Roof.
The story centres on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family's lives. He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters, who wish to marry for love – each one's choice of a husband moves further away from the customs of his faith. The Chapter House is an interdisciplinary dance piece featuring intricate choreography by Zoi Dimitriou coupled with video installation by Mark Coniglio, inventor of Isadora software and co-director of the group Troika Ranch.
This new perspective-shifting collaboration is a seductively ambiguous examination of the acts of performing and documentation. Dimitriou’s aim is to expose the processes and mechanics of creation by using digital media to record, re-construct and re-enact a live performance. In The Chapter House she’s inviting you to gaze back at the body of her work and discover how meaning can be revealed and transformed…

British born Constantinou, selected for Aerowaves16 as one of the 20 most exciting choreographers in Europe, returns to the UK for this showcase performance.
ReDoing GENDER 1.5 is an award-winning solo performed by Constantinou. It challenges patriarchal masculinities to question normative gender roles; from classical sculptures of male ideals, a gender-confused ape, a box-headed individual, to a full blown crying baby with a man's body. ReDoing GENDER 1.5 is filled with intense imagery displaying one man's search for identity under the gaze of the patriarchy.
In The WOMANhouse, four female performers abandon their feminine worlds to step into a male universe, transforming themselves into men and questioning their masculinities. What is it to be man? Is this the same as being masculine? Does your body define your gender? Where does the masculine begin and the feminine end? With these questions in mind, the lines between constructed maleness and their own female bodies
are explored.

Mayhem’s Shakespeare in the park returns for a fourth year, with one of his most popular comedies, As You Like It following previous sell-out productions of Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Performed in the outdoor splendor of Cannizaro Park (Wimbledon), Nonsuch Park (Cheam) and the beautiful grounds of St Philomena’s School (Carshalton), Shakespeare’s As You Like It is a beloved comedic tale of love, wit and folly, and a perfect accompaniment to a summer evening picnic.
Forced into exile from the court by his usurping brother, Duke Senior takes refuge in the Forest of Arden while his daughter Rosalind remains at court as a companion to her cousin Celia. Jealous of her popularity, Duke Frederick finally banishes Rosalind from the court, so disguised as a boy she embarks on a journey through the forest in search of her exiled father accompanied by her cousin Celia and Touchstone the fool.

A tender and unique exploration of the impact of Alzheimer’s on family relations. Let Me Stay is a celebration of life and love as seen through the eyes of Shirley McNamara, Queen of the Mersey. It's a lifestyle choice for some...
Julie McNamara has recorded her Mother's songs and stories, filmed and photographed her in all her glory, over many years. The result is a compelling piece of theatre, an extraordinary love letter straight from the heart welded with a wicked underlying humour.

Posted: 12th Aug 2013 by (Announcement - general)http://castcambridge.com Call Me DustyAnnouncement - general: Without doubt the finest white soul singer of her era, Dusty Springfield is for millions the definitive pop diva. And 2013 is the 50th anniversary of the start of her extraordinary solo career. Her lifestyle is the stuff of legend – and great drama. With her relentless quest for perfection and refusal to compromise, Dusty Springfield led a tormented life. Her stage persona – extravagant black mascara and backcombed hair – was at odds with the quiet, shy convent girl Mary O'Brien and her sexuality. The result was a downward spiral of drugs, alcohol abuse and self-harm– but, despite all that, she produced tremendous music, which still ranks as some of the finest of its kind.
'Call Me Dusty' celebrates the music, while exploring the dichotomy of the private person and her alter ego. Call Me Dusty opens at the Playhouse, Weston-super-Mare on September 4.
Posted: 30th Jul 2013 by Derek Webb (Announcement - general)http://callmedusty.org.uk The Comedy of Errors - OUDS Tour 2013Announcement - general: Set in Malaga, Shakespeare's funniest comedy explores two sides of Britishness as stiff-upper lipped Antipholus of Marlborough seeks his long-lost twin amid the hedonistic ex-pat community. With its thumping clubs and cruise ships, class conflict ensues as the twins bluster through the city, leaving mayhem in their wake. Meanwhile their father has until sunset to cobble together a ransom if he wants to avoid execution. This is a world where nothing seems to fit, hilarity leads to hysteria, and family ties hang by a thread. This vibrant new production reveals the adultery and betrayal that lurk beneath the surface of Shakespeare's best-loved comedy.

Richard III will be staged in the beautiful and epic Holy Trinity Church on Guildford High Street, with the company’s inimitable site-specific approach, where the audience are placed right at the heart of the action.
A number of the cast from 2011’s critically acclaimed production of Hamlet will return for Richard III, as will director Caroline Devlin who is joined by designer Neil Irish, fresh from his work on The Merchant of Venice this summer. Anticipation around the production is already starting to build, and tickets will be on sale from early December.
