Inspired by samples, rare grooves and ‘breaks’ of 60s and 70s funk, from Los Angeles, The Breakestra sit somewhere between Mark Ronson and something infinitely cooler. The band say it best on their website “A Breakestra show is about dancing and swinging — eight men on stage getting loose, playing serious grooves. Think James Brown.
