The Maternal Instinct
T1353412586
The play is about a recently married couple, Sarah and Lilian. Sarah is a teacher of autistic children, and Lilian is a geneticist working at the nearby university. Lilian's work and home life collide when Sarah suggests that they have a baby - at the same time as she is attempting to isolate the cause of the maternal instinct in her lab. As a recovering alcoholic, Lilian is unsure of her own suitability for parenthood, but her sister takes Sarah's side, and a stream of events ensues to find the perfect donor to father the child and make Lilian change her mind.
