Christmas Champions

Christmas Champions builds upon the music of midwinter both choral and instrumental with new songs and re-workings of established carols. Chris Wood and Hugh Lupton are joined by Robert Harbron, John Dipper, and Olivia Ross to take a sideways look at the mummers play, with a celebration in words and music of one of England's strangest and most resilient midwinter traditions. Their voices are worked into field recordings of Herbie Smith's reminiscences of mumming in the Medway Valley at the turn of the last century.
