Like every Thursday for the past five years ex-con Charlie McGhee wistfully gets ready for this daughter Nan's visit. Although alone in Nans eyes, McGhee still shares his days with his dead wife Cathy, an ethereal presence which visits the old place and romantically dreams over an old china shepherdess. Their gestures witness a past harmony which Nan is just too blind to perceive.
