Lead by Argentinian producer/musician Gustavo Santaolalla, Bajofondo Tango Club has been hailed for performing a massive leap forward in tango music. The group combines virtuoso performances on bandoneon, violin and voice with a giant video screen and live electronica in order to take tango resolutely into the new century. Bajofondo won a gold record in Argentina and was a winner of a Gardel Award in 2002 (the Argentine equivalent of the Grammys, appropriately named after the great tango singer).and Melingo - T083538430Bajofondo is a 21st century tango group led by Gustavo Santaolalla, the double Oscar-winning composer who wrote the film scores for Babel and Brokeback Mountain, and is the Director of the forthcoming Café de los Maestros tango film.
