Details

In the summer of 2003 leading UK jazz pianist Jonathan Gee was invited to perform at the Appenine Jazz festival in Italy, accompanied by two young Turks of the Italian jazz scene: Danilo Gallo on bass and Alessandro Minetto on drums. The gig worked beautifully and a band was formed. It has toured and recorded an album entitled Cream of Mandarins. The trio all write for the group and each of their compositions complement each other. It is a trio that can touch base with Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock and Paul Bley. The trio comes to Birmingham as part of its second national tour.
