Details

Gentle Men archiveThe Gentle Men suite was originally composed for the 1997 Peace Concert in Passendaele, Belgium. Drawing you into the vivid detail of two ordinary men (Rob Johnson's grandfathers), their involvement in WW1 and its effect on the rest of their lives, the narrative is an edgy mix of humour and gentle observation that offsets the pain and anger. A highly acclaimed moving masterpiece, the concert features folk legend Roy Bailey, who recently celebrated 40 years of singing with a concert at The Albert Hall; Flemish folk-rock singer and modern-day Dietrich, Vera Coomans; accordionist Philip Hoessen and guitarist, singer and songwriter Robb Johnson.
