The Toolshed club night is described in Dave Haslam's current best seller 'Manchester England' as "one of the defining club nights of the late 90s" and has been running at various venues in Manchester for two years. A unique feature of 'The Toolshed Allstars' is that they take a cavalier attitude to coming up with something new for each performance. They often change its character between double-necked heavy metal free form mush to lush ambient symphonies to techno versions of Duke Ellington and Morrecone. Centred on Massey's techno arsenal, the band features up to 3 drummers, the distinctive vocals of Sea Ming Too, the world famous jazz violin of Graham Clark and bassist Paddy Steer.
