Seattle-based guitar player and singer Korby Lenker made his name on the West Coast with his pioneering alt. bluegrass band The Barbed Wire Cutters. Last year he made his first solo album, Bellingham, which sees him developing as a songwriter in the classic Americana mode. The album also features Lenker's instant bluegrass classic, Punkin Brown, written about a snake-handling preacher, plus a fine Louvin Brothers cover, one of several duets with former Be Good Tanya, Jolie Holland.
