Lekan is widely though of as one of the worlds greatest percussionists, learning his talent at as a child growing up in Nigeria playing for his fathers Yoruba-Christian church, he moved to England in the 80’s and is seen by many as one of the best percussionists in the world, now settled in Dorset where he has set up the Ifa Yoruba contemporary arts trust. Joining Lekan will be Karen Street, a breathtaking accordionist who has made a name for herself in the jazz world and Kate Luxmoore, highly respected and inspirational clarinettist. With Afro beat becoming increasingly popular in the dance world the fusion of traditional Yorùbá and English music with its electrifying rhythms and powerful sounds makes it music to really move to.
