Winter Moon - Warm Music for a Dark Night - T01016551891

Cellist Matthew Sharp brings an ensemble of the UK's leading chamber musicians to play a special candlelit concert in the Howard Assembly Room inspired by the cold nights of Winter and the human need for warmth. A first half of music and words for wintertime includes Elgar's Dream Children, and is followed by a darker winter's journey as Strauss's haunting The Castle By The Sea meets Schoenberg's extraordinary Transfigured Night, and Mahler's passionate At Midnight. For this unique concert, the Howard Assembly Room is transformed by flickering candles and the warm glow of firelight.
