Ruthie Culver's Utter: Jazz archiveAcclaimed jazz singer and poet, Ruthie Culver, presents this part jazz concert, part poetry reading with live music in which Ruthie and her trio take an eclectic and enjoyable journey through the ways that words and music interact. Sparking off stories and sounds in the moment, the musicians create a sound-world inspired by the words of poets from Hardy and Lawrence to leading living writers like Jackie Kay, Jo Shapcott and Roger McGough. Interwoven between poems are songs by Gershwin, Jonny Mercer and Edith Piaf, plus originals by Ruthie using her own lyrics
