Skip, or Little Axe as he known to most, kicks off the weekend promoting his new release, "If You Want Loyalty Buy A Dog". With a career that has lasted over 30 years, Skip has worked with just about everyone in the business, from James Brown to Living Colour. The late seventies saw him spearhead the trio that became the house band for Sugar Hill records playing on two of their biggest hits, ?White Lines' & ?The Message' (Grandmaster Flash).

With a blues background, Skip McDonald nevertheless found himself in the house band for both pioneering hip-hop label Sugar Hill Records and Adrian Sherwood’s On-U Sound, before forming the band Tackhead. When that band broke up, he eventually formed Little Axe and has developed his brand of dub/blues/gospel ever since, now signed to Peter Gabriel’s Real World label.
