Ludovic Navarre, alias St Germain, pioneered the French Touch, the new electronic music of France, that inspired later 1990s group Air, Daft Punk and Dimitri From Paris. Back in 1991, in his studio in the Paris suburbs, he first created his own brand of fusion music that blends techno with jazz and blues, and ambient, house and dub. His album 'Boulevard' (1995), became a classic and was elected Record of the Year in England.
