Alesha s Street Dance Stars is a brand new series on CBBC starting this summer which sees Alesha Dixon swap salsa and samba for locking and popping, as she searches for Britain s most original, entertaining and accomplished young streetdancers. The dance crew who win the show will perform live at Dance 2011 in an event introduced by Alesha Dixon. Turbo (aka Issac Baptiste) one of the country s top streetdancers and judge on the show, will also perform at the event. If you're part of a dance group there's even a chance to perform on our Openstage. If you're a Street Dance Crew you can compete for your chance to perform live with the winners of Alesha's Street Dance Stars. You'll perform your dance routine in front of an audience on The Lowry plaza and our judges, Dani Winters, a North West professional Streetdancer and Natalie Davies, Youth Dance Strategy Manager, NorthWest Dance will choose the crew with the most style and originality. To register your interest in taking part for both events email northwestdance@thelowry.com Throughout the day you can also learn more about different types of dance with our workshops, ranging from Under 5 s First Steps, drop-in Tap, to more advanced classes for ages 14+ with some of the UK s leading dance companies. There will also be a chance to find out about dance classes happening all around the North West in our Dance Market.
