Hakeem Onibudo: The 20 Year Story is an interactive interview-style show with pop-up dance performances, bringing to life the last two decades of Hakeem's (aka "Mr. Impact's") journey. From teaching his first street dance class at Danceworks to today, Hakeem's versatile career has been driven by a desire to support artists as a teacher, choreographer, artistic director and cultural leader with his company Impact Dance. Hosted by Kenneth Olumyiwa Tharpe (Chief Executive, The Place), the evening is interspersed with performances by leading artists including Kenrick Sandy and Mikey J Asante (Boy Blue Entertainment), MC Zani, Jacqui Bennett and a host of bright emerging dance talent. Directed by DJ Walde (Musical Director, ZooNation Dance Company) this show is a rollercoaster ride of the ups and downs of an individual who continues to motivate, lead and inspire people in the UK and internationally.
