New Work/Sleepless/Chapeau
The evening features the UK premiere of a brand new work by Paul Lightfoot and [Sol León], commissioned by Dance Consortium, and a collage of works by Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin, who has also created work for companies such as Rambert Dance Company, Lyon Opera Ballet and his own Batsheva Dance Company. Jirí Kylián, former Artistic Director of NDT, is hailed around the world for his achievements in dance. In
Sleepless he converts the stage into a place of illusion and fantasy, in an intriguing celebration of the human form.
Chapeau, a present to Queen Beatrix (known for her collection of huge hats), is a piece for 12 dancers, exuberantly performed to songs by Prince.
