Freedom

T01035177545
Based on the true story of a Ugandan orphan, Amelia, whose parents died in a house fire. Freedom powerfully depicts the themes of sex slavery, domestic violence and misogyny set against the backdrop of life in 1980's Uganda. Susanaah loves Amelia as if she were her own child. Susanaah's husband, Nsubuga resents Amelia as a drain on his dwindling finances. Nsubuga is a violent man who abuses both his wife Susanaah, and Amelia. Upon Susanaah's death, life for Amelia takes a radical turn for the worse.

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
