Young Writers Festival 2002 - A Genesis Project - T01433307943

The Royal Court Young Writers Programme is a seed-bed for new writers in this country. Earlier this year, a nation-wide hunt was undertaken for original young playwrights between the ages of 13 and 25. Writers were invited to submit a play on any subject, in any style and of any length to be considered for the Royal Court’s biennial Young Writers Festival. The culmination of this year’s search is IMPRINT - six productions and a selection of rehearsed readings chosen from over 350 scripts. Many writers who emerged from the previous Young Writers Festivals have gone on to become established and award-winning writers, including Leo Butler, Nick Grosso, Jonathan Harvey, Rebecca Pritchard, Christopher Shinn, Simon Stephens and Michael Wynne.
