David Michael Davis (Conservative MP for Haltemprice and Howden) presents a timely evening of political debate in conversation with Iain Dale - one of one of Britain's leading political commentators. Since entering Parliament in 1987 David has held the positions of Conservative Party Chairman and Shadow Deputy Prime Minister. Between 2003 and 2008 he was the Shadow Home Secretary in the shadow cabinet, under both Michael Howard and David Cameron. Most recently he made headlines when, in a surprise and controversial move, he announced his intention to resign as an MP. In the ensuing forced by-election he sought re-election by mounting a specific campaign designed to provoke wider public debate about the erosion of civil liberties. The following month he convincingly regained his seat with 72% of the vote.
