The Monteverdi Singers is a large chamber choir which draws its members from across North Wales. Its extensive repertoire extends from the Reformation to the present day including works it has commissioned from Sebastian Forbes and John Hywel, and from a cappella works to major orchestral pieces such as ?The Kingdom' of Elgar (performed for UCNW's ?Music at Bangor' series in December 2012), the Verdi ?Requiem', and Will Todd's jazz ?Mass in Blue'. The choir, based in Bangor, has performed e.g. The ?Symphony for Voices' of Williamson in Holyhead, Britten's ?Hymn to the Virgin' in Ruthin, and ?Messiah' both in Dolgellau and with the ?Liverpool Phil' in Venue Cymru in Llandudno. Earlier this year they gave their 28th consecutive performance at the Beaumaris Festival.
