In May 1993 Rebecca Stephens became the first British woman to climb Everest and was awarded an MBE for her achievement. Her passion for mountains grew at an astounding rate, following her initial foray up Everest in 1989. She has climbed most of the major summits of the world. These climbs will be the subject of one of the most eagerly awaited mountaineering lecture of recent years.
