An exciting double bill to kick off a weekend of folk at Southbank Centre. Vocalist and fiddler player Lisa Knapp’s re-workings of folk songs, with an added splash of original writing, are fresh and modern and sit happily alongside the nu-folk adventures of Adem, Patrick Wolf and The Fence Collective, while being firmly rooted in traditional music. Singers Lauren McCormick and Emily Portman are taking the folk scene by storm, with their intricate and subtle harmonies, and spirited, unaffected style.
