Part of the Enlighten Series. Herbert Blomstedt, is the new Music Director of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. The OAE welcomes this major interpreter of the central German musical tradition in his first collaboration with the Orchestra. Alexi Libimov gives the first period instrument performance of the Brahms Piano Concerto, following his incadescent performances of Beethoven in previous seasons. He will be playing an original Bosendorfer of 1875.
