Eight Female Hip Hop Groups announced for the deciding B-Girl Battle at Southbank Centre. Of the 200 young women hip-hop dancers, from 24 London Boroughs competing in Dare2Dance this summer at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, only eight finalist groups remain. After training with Nike-D-Clash, they return to Southbank Centre to compete on Saturday 18 October to be the overall winner. Hosted by Nike athlete Kymberlee Jay, b.young - b.supreme profiles some of London’s most exciting emerging female hip-hop talent. Static, Outrage, Vanity, Retaliation, Distinctive, Stylinquents, Myself and Trixterz perform in front of a panel of industry specialist judges to win performance opportunities, training and a selection of Nike goodies, including a pair of ID trainers. Legendary American breaker, Alien Ness sets up the very first, all-female Eastpak Octagon Battle - a seven foot wide octagon where the UK’s finest b-girls lay down an improvised routine of aerial moves and fancy footwork, without touching the cones. Lawrence Olivier award-winning dance troupe, Boy Blue, and Sheffield-based Hip Hop act Krunk kick-off performances in the Purcell Room. With music from DJ Kayper accompanying the after-show freestyle foyer battles, b.young – b.supreme is an all-female celebration of women in hip hop. Purcell Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall
