Chirantan (Eternal)

Tanusree Shankar Dance Company, a contemporary dance group from India, presents its latest production, the spectacular Chirantan (Eternal), which blends Western dance forms with rhythmic movements from the East in a work which brings alive the situation we live in, caught in conflict and hankering for peace. The entire concept is taken from Tagore and choreographed by Tanusree Shankar herself. The work's composer Debojyoti Misra combines a number of forms of music: Latin American, Japanese, Baroque and Tagore tunes. Distinguished Indian film personality Amitabha Bachchan recites from Tagore throughout the performance. Queen Elizabeth Hall
